What is an RSIM?
The R-SIM 16 is a way to unlock an iPhone that has been locked to one carrier.
A new version is released each year: RSIM 9, RSIM 10, RSIM 11, etc… The R-SIM 16 is the most recent version for 2021
It’s an interposer SIM, meaning it’s a little circuit that sits on top of your regular SIM inside your iPhone to allow a phone that had been “locked” to one network to be used with any network of your choice.
What are the advantages of using R-SIM 16 to unlock a phone?
The R-SIM 16 is:

- Safe: doesn’t void your warranty
- Effective: works with a wide range of carriers and countries. Your iPhone will operate the same as a factory unlocked device including SMS, data and calls

What are the disadvantages of R-SIM 16?
Here are some of the drawbacks:
- Not instant: it’s a physical product that needs to ship to you, so shipping takes a few days
- iPhone only: if you’re looking to unlock an Android device… sorry, RSIM is made specifically for iPhone
- Manual updates: when you update your iOS, you may need to enter a 20-digit number called an ICCID code. This takes 1-2 minutes and the codes are always free on our website. More on this below.
Why does the R-SIM need “manual updates”? Is this hard to do?
Although R-SIM16 is compatible with all current and future iOS versions, when you upgrade to the newest iOS you will need to type in an ICCID code in order to update the software.
The ICCID code is 20 digits, and entered through a special RSIM menu in your iPhone. We always list the most recent ICCID here so you won’t need to look far to find it. The ICCID codes are free and always will be.
Entering the code is easy and the whole thing shouldn’t take more than 1 or 2 minutes, but of course, it would be even better if it was done automatically.

Can you use the same r sim on a different device after using it on a previous device?
Hi Ali. Yes, you can move it to another phone later. But, R-SIM12 will only unlock one phone at a time. R-SIM Supreme is a one-time unlock that can be used on multiple phones at once.

I’m trying to activate an at&t prepaid SIM card for use with my soon-to-be unlocked iPhone XR (using R-sim 14). I had T-mobile and now switching to att. It requires the IMEI number for my phone. My IMEI is blocked due to no payment on the T-mobile network (I’ve checked). How can I get around this?
I figured out the issue! I have a clean IMEI on other networks, just not T-mobile. Once the phone is unlocked it should be good.

Hi, Harry. Yes, if you remove it from one iPhone it will still work on an any number of other iPhones. It only keeps the phone unlocked while RSIM is still inside the phone. But, keep in mind that with R-SIM 15 you get 2 RSIM (for normal SIM trays) so you could unlock 2 phones at one time. (anything with a regular SIM tray, ie not XR/XSMax etc)
Can you use another SIM card to replace the one you used to install the r sim
Hi Anthony, yes, once you have R-SIM you can use any SIM card with your phone- you will just need to do the R-SIM setup (enter ICCID) each time you change the SIM card.
Recently purchased R-SIM 14 on Ebay , did not arrive yet, perhaps I should have purchased it from you. Have XS Max, that is locked to Xfinity mobile. Want to use an active T-Mobile sim and phone #. Was not aware that updates may not work. Maybe X-Sim is a better way to go. Please advise. Thanks
Hello, I live in Japan and I recently bought a new phone. I still have my almost 3 year old iPhone 7 which is carrier locked. I wonder if I can use a different network while never leaving japan and if I change my mind revert back to the original carrier. I asked this because permanent unlock offered online said thaat once it is unlocked, I can never use it again in japan. But I wont be leaving Japan. I will just hop on another network.

Hi Amey, You can order R-SIM 15 Gevey SIM here. For Pakistan it might take 2-3 weeks, depending on local mail service. Some countries are faster (USA, Europe, etc), but in India and Pakistan we tend to see delays in customs and the local post service. Sorry about that.
